Mograch: A Designer’s Real-World Type Audit
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test Mograch in black and white first—its contrast and weight distribution become obvious without color distraction.
- Check readability at 9pt on screen and 6pt in print. It passes—but only if tracking is opened slightly.
- Try it on real mockups: a sticker sheet, a Shopify product page, a DTC email header—not just in Figma.
- Compare uppercase vs. lowercase in your actual context. Often, mixing both (e.g., “Mograch” in caps, “designed with care” in lowercase) creates richer hierarchy.
- Review spacing—especially line height and letter-spacing—before exporting final assets. Default settings are solid, but rarely perfect for your specific medium.
- Pair it intentionally: beside a warm serif font for contrast, a neutral sans serif font for harmony, a script font for accent, or a display font for controlled drama. Avoid pairing with another high-contrast sans serif—it’ll compete, not complement.
- Confirm commercial licensing before using in client work or digital products. Mograch is a commercial font, but usage rights vary by vendor—some restrict web embedding or resale in templates.
